Where do we meet, park and what do I do with my kit?

Most events kick off at our Run Centre located in Stroud, Gloucestershire, at postcode GL5 3JW.  For precise navigation, use the What3Words location: goat.gentlemen.credible.

We offer complimentary parking (ensure your car is in gear due to the incline). Our facilities include restrooms, changing rooms, and small lockers for valuables.

After your run, you can change and leave your wet gear and trainers downstairs. Please bring a change of footwear for after the run, and pool sliders are necessary if you plan to use the showers.

How fast are the runs/will I get left behind/ slow everyone down?

Our guided runs use mixed pace Leaders and have strategies in place to keep groups together so nobody should feel like they’re slowing or pushing the group pace.

What kit do I need?

Your general trail running kit, in addition to trail shoes, a light waterproof coat, fuel and hydration pack, alongside a fully charged mobile phone.  Please also remember inhalers & other medication should you need it.

Do I need to bring food and drink?

A minimum 1 litre of water / sports drink is advised to be carried by each runner during our event runs. There will be plenty of stops during all runs to take on your own fuel and hydration as and when you need it.

We provide complimentary refreshments and treats, including vegan and gluten free at our Run Centre before and after guided runs and throughout 1-2-1 or small group coaching sessions.

Accidents and emergencies on the run

All our run Leaders are first aid trained and carry kit. We also take out an emergency shelter because it is hilly and gnarly in places. All runners are asked to include a foil blanket in your hydration pack/belt.

Run Cotswolds use the ‘what 3 words’ GPS app on the trail and asks all runners download the free app in case of extreme emergency hence all runners are asked to carry a fully charged mobile phone on the trail at all times.  Our Run Centre what 3 word location = goat.gentlemen.credible.

Ride Cotswolds FAQ’s below, should you have any further questions click here to contact us

How do I book onto an adventure?

Ride Cotswolds events are informal experiences (non charging events) that Run Cotswolds Monthly Membership subscribers are welcome to book. When you purchase a membership, you’ll be added to a group chat where all group ride alerts are sent to those who sign up.

Monthly membership subscribers can book onto any Run Long, Run Strong classes & events as advertised on the Classes & Workshop page on this site.

Where do we meet, park and what do I do with my kit?

Most rides start at our Ride Centre in Stroud, Glos – GL5 3JW – What 3 Word location = goat.gentlemen.credible Alternative locations are advised in the group chat once booked on.

We have free parking (leave your motorbike in gear – we are on a hill!), WC’s, changing areas and small lockers to keep valuables. You are able to get changed post ride, leaving your wet gear and trainer’s downstairs. Please bring a change of footwear for when back from the ride – pool sliders are also required if showering.

How fast are the rides? Will I get left behind or slow everyone down?

Due to the nature of Dual Sport riding, our guided rides are always slow paced so nobody should feel like they’re slowing or pushing the group pace. When on tarmacked roads, we may use the drop off system to keep groups together (this will be explained if you’re new to this).

What kit do I need?

Bring your own suitable motorcycle for trail, enduro, or adventure riding. It must be fully insured, taxed, MOT’d, and road legal. Only Class A and A2 UK license holders are allowed, and we’ll verify these before the event.

You’ll need to wear appropriate motorcycle gear, including:

  • A road-legal helmet (goggles if it’s open-faced)
  • Gloves
  • An adventure-style corduroy suit or a durable biker’s jacket and trousers
  • Strong biker boots with grippy soles, ideally adventure or enduro type
  • Under armor is highly recommended

Make sure to pack:

  • Basic tools for your motorcycle
  • A fully charged mobile phone
  • A credit or payment card for personal expenses
  • Any necessary medications

It’s also a good idea to bring a backpack, preferably with a hydration system, towel, and change of clothes.

Do I need to bring food and drink?

A minimum 500ml of water / sports drink is advised to be carried by each rider. There will be stops when needed during all rides to take on your own fuel and hydration.

We provide complimentary tea, coffee & bisuits at the ride centre.

Accidents and emergencies on the run

Our Motorbike Leaders are first aid trained and carry kit, plus we also take out an emergency shelter & foil blankets incase needed in remote areas.

We take 1 Ltr of spare petrol out with us, but our routes are planned to pass fuel stations for group stops when needed.

Ride Cotswolds use the ‘what 3 words’ GPS app and ask all riders to download the free app in case of extreme emergency hence all runners are asked to carry a fully charged mobile phone on the trail at all times.  Our Run Centre what 3 word location = goat.gentlemen.credible.
